Flows: react to what visitors do
Ready-made automations: offer help after rage clicks, the bug report after an error, a word on the pricing page, a last offer before they leave, a welcome back, and tickets outside business hours.
A flow watches for something a visitor does and lets the widget react: a message over the launcher, the chat opened, or the bug report offered. Flows run in the visitor's browser, so they react at once. You set them up in Settings › Flows; changing them needs the Widget, install code and sites permission.
The flows
| Flow | When it shows | Starts as |
|---|---|---|
| Rage clicks | The visitor clicks the same spot several times in a burst (3 to start): the page isn't doing what they expect. | "Something not working? We can take a look with you." over the launcher. |
| Errors | The page throws a script error or a request fails (choose Script errors, Failed requests or Both, and after how many). | Opens the bug report. |
| Time on a page | The visitor stays on a page for a while (45 seconds on /pricing* to start). | "Questions about plans? We can help you pick the right one." |
| Leaving | The pointer heads for the browser's tab bar (computers only). | "Before you go, anything we can help with?" |
| Returning visitor | From their second visit (or the one you choose), a few seconds after the page loads. | A welcome back over the launcher. |
| Outside business hours | Your team is outside its business hours (Settings › Tickets & targets). | The message is the widget's away note, and what visitors write becomes a ticket. |
Set one up
- Open Settings › Flows and click New flow, then pick the kind. It starts from a ready-made message you can change.
- Write What the visitor sees and who it's From (empty: your widget's header title).
- Choose what happens (Then): Show the message over the launcher (a click opens the chat with it), Open the chat with the message, or Open the bug report.
- Choose where and for whom:
- On these pages and Never on: paths like
/checkoutor/docs/*, or whole addresses. Empty means every page. - Devices: every device, computers or phones.
- People: everyone, people you've identified, or anonymous visitors.
- How often: once a visit, once per visitor, or once a page.
- On these pages and Never on: paths like
- Switch it On and save. The widget picks it up on the visitor's next page.
Each flow shows how many times it was Shown to visitors, the Visitors who clicked it, the Chats it started and when it was last shown. A chat a flow started opens with the flow's message, so your team sees what the visitor reacted to.
Plans
How many flows can be on at once: Free 1, Starter 5, Growth and up as many as you like. Switch one off to make room, or upgrade in Settings › Billing.
